It’s been quite an era, not like any other century. Seems to be human civilization is making better on some topics, such as technology. And that’s it actually.
Humans are barely getting wiser, or thoughtful or anything to make them evolve in their mindset. They are still the same creatures, but obviously getting better at building tools.
Some say; “Oh no, surely humans are getting better.” And then they keep talking about; “don’t you see there are less wars, and less brutality…etc. etc.” and it’s really amazing how do they believe in that dream.
Actually, okay, let’s not be that much harsh on humanity. Yes, they are vulgar creatures but c'mon they are trying. Don’t you see? They are trying so hard!
Even the richest on earth call out for a cage fight and share pictures and videos of how they are good at martial arts. So are you gonna be in the next Shang-Chi movie or what?
Well, unfortunately, humans are brutally the same. Or can you tell me five differences between you and the cavemen?
Ok yes, you got a smartphone, you got a car, you got a fancy shelter, you got a PS5 maybe, you got a VR set probably, but actually those belong to not every human being. Those privileges belong to humans who don’t live in third-world countries, who don’t live in war zones, and who don’t live in where making a dollar a day is almost impossible.
So, how many people are living better than the cavemen? Please share the percentages through geo-political numbers, such as the world population is now at the moment; almost over 8 billion people and this will surely keep increasing, but not directly proportional with the earthly sources. Food, shelter, water, air… Natural habitats are getting shrinking by being sucked more and more.
In return? There’s nothing in return. Humans only take but they don’t give back.
And now, like every issue is solved on this cute planet, people are getting scared of the AI, which they created by themselves like they already created so many technologies. Sadly tho, now they are scared more than Dr. Victor Frankenstein was, they think they’ve created a monster and now this monster will take over the world. Fun story indeed.
They are already creating an enemy from what they’ve created for the sake of goodness. Technology both serves good and evil depending on who’s the master behind it.
So, media and people are sharing zillions of articles, news, and predictions about the theories based on sci-fi stories mostly, and surely some professional predictions based on simulations as well. However, this or that, that or this, it doesn’t actually matter what the theories are, but common sense is obvious; it’s a double-edged sword.
As human beings, there are good ones and evil ones. And this will also resonate with the AI too. It’s not newly discovered, a whole sci-fi literature is built on this section, Battlestar Galactica is the most elegant one, as it felt heartwarmingly humanist rather than the Terminator series. But in the end, it was written, and known for ages that this was going to happen. The AI and the tools along with it will divide humanity, on both good and bad sides.
It already started with the seeding of more fear each and every day. The reason actually behind the AI tools (not shockingly) will serve for the governments in the first place, but indeed humans will get what they want; sex robots probably?
I don’t really think most humans will understand the quality of the AI or sooner than later will be called AGI, but they will seek for the benefits it serves for their sassy so-called needs.
And here it comes another epic series that needs to be remembered; Ghost in the Shell: Innocence. “Robotic sex dolls that have murdered their masters.” Totally makes sense, and time’s not that far from this story, let’s read the plot; “In the year 2032, Batô, a cyborg detective for the anti-terrorist unit Public Security Section 9, investigates the case of a female robot--one created solely for sexual pleasure--who slaughtered her owner.”
2032? In 9 years? Time’s getting its shit done quite faster these days, it used to take decades to invent a tool and let the public get and able to use it, but now it’s almost each and every day something new is up on the market and everyone has already adapted it even before using it.
Since the Millennials are getting pretty much older, Gen Z and Gen Alpha are being born adaptable to almost every tool, they can’t say anything like; I don’t know how this works, they find a way to use it, but they are not insisting on not using tools like Baby Boomers were. Most of the Baby Boomers were not able to get along with the tech tools easily, they usually got help from their kids and grandkids.
So no one actually will be scared of the AI, unless AI is controlled by some evil minds, even includes the cutest ones;
If you are bombarded with the news about AI will take over the world, just don’t get involved with the darkest ideas, but try to get yourself ready for some action instead.
Which means; learn more, adapt more, use more AI tools, do not think that what hippies thought about having a carefree mind was the best idea, while having so many drugs and sex actually violated the core idea of peace itself.
So, do not let the AI scare you, but be able to get along with it, not against it, do not deep dive into the conspiracy theories where they tell nothing but end of the world stories. It’s not the end of the world, but actually the beginning of a new era, just be sure you are ready for it. Be sure you’ve got scientific knowledge, rather than biblical knowledge because the real religion will be science sooner than all humans think it would ever will be.
Do not let the evil minds trick you, and do not let yourself be evil, always serve for good. Just because, in the end, even the technology rises, the story will be always about between good and bad.
Humanity’s story was told so many times, in so many places, so many stories, movies, everywhere it was told. Basically, it’s nothing new you are experiencing right now, you know everything, but you haven’t lived in it yet, and now you’ll live in it. Live in it purposefully, not arrogantly. You will be not better than any AI/AGI and vice versa it will be not better than humans.
Scared of the evil ones, but not the technology, not the science itself.
xoxo
